Make sure your meat is good quality. A small piece of organic steak provides much more iron and zinc than a larger amount of cheap mince or ground beef. Beware of cheap burgers which may have ‘pink slime’ added.
Animals store toxins in their fat, just like us so minimise the amount of fat on your meat unless you are eating organic.
Marinade meat before barbecuing to reduce harmful chemicals forming and reduce charring. Use a lower heat and cook steak rare rather than well-done.
1 clove garlic, chopped finely
20mls olive oil
1 teaspoon butter
Mix ingredients together and brush over meat, 1-2 hours before cooking. Herbs and spices can be added as well.
